The Element hotel in Willits Town Center is set to open in early December and is now accepting holiday and 2016 reservations, according to a press release.
Hotel owners, Denver-based Silverwest Hotels, LLC, have also welcomed hotel and resort management executive Michael Welly as the new general manager. Welly most recently worked for Cairn Consulting as president, offering evaluations and advice regarding hotel and resort operations, staff performance, annual business plans, capital plans and project management.
Prior to Cairn Consulting, Welly worked for the Longboat Key Club & Resort in Sarasota, Fla., as managing director where he managed the resort and its 2,000+-member golf and tennis club, oversaw operations of the 221-suite condominium hotel, including its six restaurants, 45 holes of golf, 38 tennis courts, spa, and deep water marina. Welly also worked for Wyndham International in Dallas as a senior vice president, Resort & Luxury Operations.
“With more than 35 years of experience running top-tier chains and resorts, Welly is highly qualified to oversee the running of Basalt’s newest hotel,” said Ed Mace, partner in Silverwest Hotels, developer of the hotel.
The newly constructed Element Basalt-Aspen offers 113 rooms. It will join Element Denver Park Meadows as the brand’s second property in Colorado.
“This hotel will redefine the extended-stay and short-term stay experience in the Aspen area by offering guests an affordable, smart and sustainable lodging with close proximity to world-class ski resorts and outdoor recreation,” said Welly.
Element Basalt-Aspen will boast light-filled studios as well as one-bedroom suites featuring a fluid design of modular furniture, swiveling flat-screen televisions, large desks with open shelving and custom-designed closets. Rooms will also offer fully equipped kitchens and the signature Heavenly® Bed. Bathrooms will feature a rain shower and dual-flush toilet. Other brand signatures will include a 24-hour fitness center, salt-water pool and outdoor hot tub, and 626-square-foot meeting room with modular furnishings that can be customized to meet any business or social need. Guests can borrow bikes. There is also complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, the hotel’s signature RISE breakfast, RELAX evening reception, and salon bar carts stocked with premium wines and beers, soft drinks and snacks, available after hours.
Element is the first major hotel brand to mandate that all properties pursue the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for high-performance buildings.
