A longtime area homeless man was struck and killed by a car on Highway 133 on the night of June 3, not far from where he had been hit twice in the past, according to a Carbondale Police Department press release.

Law enforcement and emergency medical services were called to the 300 block of the highway, between Village Road and Dolores Way, around 10:50 p.m., the release said, and administered CPR to the unresponsive man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Garfield Coroner later identified him as 45-year-old Wesley Paul Bright. The Coroner will also conduct an autopsy, but according to the release preliminary investigation suggests an accident.
