Common Reader features ‘Fig’
October 24, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free
Come meet the authors at Colorado Mountain College’s free, public Common Reader presentation at Morgridge Commons in Glenwood, one of seven talks at CMC locations, as the college pairs “Fig” by Sarah Elizabeth Schantz. The novel is a 2015 National Public Radio Best Book and 2016 Colorado Book Award winner, and “Ascend and Transcend,” is a companion workbook by CMC faculty Kimberly Harding. “Fig,” is a portrayal of a young woman’s childhood and relationship with her mother who has schizophrenia. “Ascend and Transcend” is a hands-on tool designed to explore “Fig” at a deeper level. Harding will moderate the evening, based on the workbook, with insights from Schantz. In case people have additional questions or concerns, support services from the college or local agencies will also be at each presentation. Seating for all talks is first come, first served.
