This year’s Common Reader tour features author and adventurer Erik Weihenmayer and his book, “No Barriers: A Blind Man's Journey to Kayak the Grand Canyon.” Colorado Mountain College is now in its 11th year of the Common Reader community reading program. “No Barriers” is a national bestseller and received an honorable mention in the 2017 National Outdoor Book Awards. Come meet the authors at Colorado Mountain College’s free, public Common Reader presentation at Morgridge Commons in Glenwood, one of seven talks at CMC locations, as the college pairs “Fig” by Sarah Elizabeth Schantz. The novel is a 2015 National Public Radio Best Book and 2016 Colorado Book Award winner, and “Ascend and Transcend,” is a companion workbook by CMC faculty Kimberly Harding. “Fig,” is a portrayal of a young woman’s childhood and relationship with her mother who has schizophrenia.…
